"" - posted by michy at 5:08 PM IM A SURVIVOR! i conquered my first day of school! i couldnt sleep last night cause i was feeling nervous and excited at the same time cause i didnt know what to expect. let me tell you about my FIRST day of school and my FIRST experience being in a mixed school. 5.55am: my dad woke me up. took my bath and i was shivering in the bathroom. 6.35am: left the house with my mother since she could take the same bus as me to the bus interchange. i just needed some mental support on my first day of school. 7am: I FINALLY STEPPED INTO CJC! i got down the bus and was desperately trying to look cool in front of all the IJ girls and SJI guys who had their friends with them. i was ALONE. so i walked "cooly" into sch and guess what?! i was natalie!!!! almost immediately that "cool aura" left and i broke down into a smile and walked really fast towards her. then turaiya came and arathi came. 7++am: we moved to the auditorium and had our morning assembly. i had a culture shock. abt 6 ppl walked up the stage. 1 was holding the national flag and the other was holding the sch flag. then this guy said what i think is something like to uphold everyone's spirits i guess then they suddenly went "in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit" and they did the hand thing. i was thinking " huh? whats happening? why does everyone know how to do it? should i do it? but how?" then i turned over and saw nat frantically trying to follow them and i burst out laughing. it was SO WRONG of me to do tt at tt pt of time. i cant rmb what took place at what time after that. so i guess i'll just tell you guys the important and interesting stuff. we had to play this ice breaker game where we put an adjective in front of our names like " JOYFUL JAMES" or " BRILLIANT BENJAMIN" and we had to do the action of tt adjective. not only that. we also had to say the names of EVERY SINGLE one sitting in front of us. THANK GOD i was the fourth one. i called myself 'MIGHTY MICHELLE'. haha. crappy. oh and before tt we had to sit in a circle with a boy in btw the girls. so this guy beside me called himself "king kong kenneth". MAN! is tt an adjective? haha. he even thought my name was MARY. i could have strangled him for that. haha. just jk of course. then we had a subject combi briefing. they actually call their principal Bro. paul or some just call him brother. its just all kinda weird to me. i guess i just need time to get used to stuff. then we had MASS DANCE! initially when they demonstrated to us the dance, althought they did it in pairs with the opposite gender, i thought we could choose to do it with girls(just like how PL does it.. but we didnt have any choice). i was SO WRONG. they split our groups up into guys one row and girls another row facing each other. the awkward part only came where we had to hold our partner's hands. many ppl were like " oh i have sweaty palms". GOD KNOWS IF ITS TRUE. oh i forgot to tell you guys tt i think my partner, boon chong, looks like howard low from eye for a guy 2. geeky but cute. yeah so we held hands and did the dance. i shall try putting the dance steps for tt part in words. we held hands, then each took a step towards each other then a step back, then let one hand off, then the girl twirl(or is it spin?) beside the guy while holding one of his hand. get it? then you stretch open the hands while STILL holding on. then the girl spin into the arms of the guy then take two steps to the right and then to the left then you open up. TADA! the AWKWARD DANCE!haha. it was funny. had lotsa fun trying to figure out the steps but i was feeling so sorry for the guy. i mean... who knows if he feels cursed for having me as a partner. after all no one had a choice. plus when i was leaving school, i overheard the conversation btw two guys. guy 1: " WAH LAO! just now i had to dance with this MGS girl" guy 2: " really ah? dont bluff la. chio a not?" guy 1: " no la! fat fat one " MAN!)&*%&$#*%#$#@$&^)(**)! he is far from gd looking himself too. how dare he call his partner tt?! after all it was JUST a dance not some match making service. dumb ass. oh theres this IJ girl in my grp called melissa. HER VOICE! YIKES! its horribly high and she loves drawing attention to herself. I HATE IJ GIRLS!!!!!!!!!! and God had to put me into CJC. ON PURPOSE!!!!!! thank God i managed to make friends with this girl who is a retainee. she's a nice girl. i like her. i guess thats all for today. you decide if it was good or bad. to me it was just a day where i discovered many things. it isnt a big deal being in a mixed school. just gotta be as invisible as possible. drawing attention to oneself would only invite unnecessary trouble. :)i guess.
